What should my child bring?
Please bring:
- A properly fitting swimsuit
- A towel
Goggles are welcome but are not required. We provide a fun, supportive learning environment with all other necessary teaching equipment.
What happens if it rains?
We teach in the rain—after all, we're already in the water! Lessons are only delayed or canceled for thunder, lightning, or other unsafe weather conditions. We follow the weather and safety policies of each facility where we teach.
Do you offer private lessons?
Yes! We offer personalized one-on-one lessons for babies, children, teens, and adults.
Do you offer group lessons?
Yes! Our small-group classes provide a fun, encouraging environment where swimmers build confidence, water safety skills, and swimming ability alongside their peers.
Can adults take swim lessons?
Absolutely! It's never too late to learn to swim or improve your confidence in the water. We welcome adults of all experience levels.
Do you work with fearful or anxious swimmers?
Yes. Many of our students come to us because they are nervous around the water. We use a patient, relationship-based approach to help swimmers build confidence at their own pace.
Do you teach children with disabilities or special needs?
Yes. We have experience working with children and adults with a wide variety of abilities and learning styles. Every lesson is individualized to meet the swimmer where they are.
Do parents get in the water?
For our Parent & Child classes, a parent or caregiver participates in the water.
For private lessons with children under 36 months, parents may choose whether they'd like to participate in the lesson or observe from the pool deck.
What happens if I miss a group lesson?
Group lesson registrations reserve your child's space for the entire session. Because your spot cannot be filled by another swimmer, missed group lessons are not refunded or credited.
What happens if I miss a private lesson?
Private lessons are scheduled individually. If you need to reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible. Our cancellation and rescheduling policy will apply.
Do you offer mobile swim lessons?
Yes! We can travel to your home or an approved community pool, making swim lessons convenient for busy families. Travel fees may apply for locations outside our standard service area.
What makes Georgia Swim School different?
At Georgia Swim School, we believe swimming should be built on trust, confidence, and skill development. Our mission is to grow swimming knowledge in our community with the main goal of drowning prevention. We focus on individualized instruction, relationship-based teaching, and helping every swimmer build lifelong confidence in and around the water.
How many lessons will my child need?
Every swimmer learns at a different pace. Factors such as age, previous experience, comfort in the water, lesson frequency, and practice between lessons all influence progress. Our goal is to help each swimmer develop safe, confident skills—not to rush them through a predetermined number of lessons.
