Nicole Fairfield
Nicole Fairfield has been passionate about teaching swimming since 2000. She began her journey by obtaining her swim instructor certification through the YMCA of the USA and spent four years teaching at the YMCA in Martin County. In 2005, she furthered her expertise by earning her American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification. Nicole then taught swim lessons for the YMCA in Liberty County, where she developed a strong connection with the YES (Youth Education Swim) Program.
After relocating to Glynn County in 2008, Nicole continued to share her passion for swimming, teaching at The Club and later at Glynn County Parks and Recreation and the Golden Isles YMCA. Throughout her career, Nicole has been dedicated to water safety, a commitment that led her to launch her podcast, Navigating Neva, where she discusses the importance of safety in, on, and around the water.
In addition to being a certified swim instructor, Nicole is also a Swim Instructor Trainer, a Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, and a certified PADI diver. Her extensive experience and dedication to water safety make her a trusted and knowledgeable instructor, committed to helping swimmers of all levels.

Lericia Collins
With nearly two decades of experience in aquatics, Lericia Collins began her journey as a lifeguard and has been teaching swim lessons ever since. As a certified swim instructor, she is passionate about helping children build confidence in the water, strengthen their swimming skills, and develop lifelong water safety awareness.
Lericia works with swimmers of all ages and abilities, from beginners taking their very first strokes to more advanced swimmers refining technique and endurance. Known for her patient, encouraging, and supportive teaching style, she creates a positive learning environment where each swimmer feels safe, motivated, and empowered to grow.
Jackie Aguirre
Jackie is one of our dedicated swim instructors who brings joy and passion to every lesson. She has a natural talent for connecting with kids, making each class fun, engaging, and supportive. With her cheerful attitude and patient approach, Jackie helps young swimmers build confidence and skills in the water. She is proudly certified with the Joyful Water program, ensuring a safe and positive learning experience for all her students.
Stacey New
Darien / Brunswick / St Simons GA
Stacey, a woman of faith, is the heart of her family—mother to five and grandmother to three. Originally from North Georgia, she recently relocated to Darien, GA, driven by a deep desire to spend quality time with her loved ones.
Her life’s journey is a captivating blend of diverse roles, ranging from crafting custom closets to chauffeuring in limousines. Presently, as the proud owner of “Tan on the Run Golden Isles,” Stacey’s love for water has brought her to her newest passion working for Georgia Swim School and educating children on water safety.
Stacey’s true passion lies in creating cherished memories with her family. Beyond work, she embraces the coastal lifestyle, indulging in beach walks, paddle boarding, and cycling. Her trio of Goldendoodles adds an extra layer of joy to these moments, reflecting her love for companionship and the simple joys of life.

Mikkela brings a calm, confident energy to every swim lesson she teaches. With years of hands-on experience working with young children — including her own two little ones and close family — she has a natural ability to make kids feel safe, supported, and successful around the water.
Mikkela has trained directly with Georgia Swim School, learning and applying the Joyful Waters approach, which emphasizes emotional security, skill-building, and joyful exploration. Her background in early childhood care, combined with her passion for water safety, makes her a phenomenal fit for families seeking a mobile swim instructor they can trust.

Jane Youngblood

Hello, I'm Jane Youngblood, and I am thrilled to be part of the teaching team here at Georgia Swim School. I became a water safety instructor in May 2024, and I am passionate about teaching water safety to individuals of all ages. In addition to my role as a water safety instructor, I also teach fire and emergency services at Golden Isles College and Career Academy.
I bring a wealth of experience to my teaching, with 10 years of experience in law enforcement and certification in CPR/First Aid as an instructor. This background has provided me with a strong foundation in safety, emergency response, and community service, which I integrate into my teaching methods.
Growing up between Brunswick and Jekyll Island, I developed a deep appreciation for our beautiful coastal environment. As a mother of four wonderful children, I understand the importance of water safety and am dedicated to sharing this vital knowledge with my students.

Laiken Wensel

Coach Laiken has been teaching with Georgia Swim School for several years and brings both swim instruction experience and classroom teaching experience to her lessons. She is patient, dependable, and great with children, helping swimmers build confidence, safety skills, and comfort in the water. Laiken primarily teaches in the St. Marys area and also instructs lessons at Wreckreation Scuba.
Wimberly Thomas
A.K.A. Coach Bo
Meet Ms Bo Thomas! A native of Florida and raised in Mississippi, Ms Bo initially came to Georgia for graduate school and now lives happily between Shady Dale and Brunswick. She is a certified P-12 music teacher and has taught music for 12 years. She is also a PhD student in Music Education at Liberty University. The only thing as important to Ms Bo other than her love of music and her belief in Jesus is her love and respect of water. She remembers at a young age her father teaching her and her siblings how to swim, how to enjoy and maintain a healthy respect regarding water safety. It is her hope that by combining her veteran teaching skills and love and respect of the water that your child will learn these skills and become a lifelong learner for their own benefit.
